Classrooms Unleashed is vital to connecting students with science, critical thinking, outdoor stewardship and Social Emotional Learning. We use a combination of in-class programs and outdoor exploration to ensure students excel in science. Lessons are designed for each specific grade level using Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Field components may be at local nature areas, nearby parks, or even in the schoolyard.

Overnight Outdoor Learning: We’re excited to welcome schools back to our Outdoor Education Camp and want to ensure that your students don’t miss out on the benefits of participating in Overnight Outdoor Learning. Through team-building initiatives and ropes course challenges, students engage in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), connecting students with their peers and teachers while building fundamental skills. A lot of what we teach during outdoor school is as much about SEL as it is about science. Hands-on outdoor field studies give students first-hand experience with science phenomena and are designed to address Next Generation Science Standards as students work cooperatively and practice communication and problem-solving, during this two- to three-day experience.

We also offer a version for adults. It is a great team building workshop for school faculty to kick off a new school year.

Leadership on the Lawn is an in-person program for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Foster team building, trust, and understanding with your students. This comprehensive learning progression is backward designed from 21st Century Learning Skills and focuses on leadership development, collaborative problem solving, teamwork, group communication, building individual confidence, and more. Students will build trust and understanding among peers, and inspire a community-driven culture. The 3-hour program is taught outdoors at your school by Sierra Nevada Journeys educators. It creates an inclusive and fun atmosphere for students to learn more about themselves and their fellow students and helps teachers and administrators build a positive learning environment.
