Make a Difference
When You Volunteer
You don't need a degree in science to make a difference in science education. We have volunteers from all walks of life and all backgrounds: parents, teachers, foresters, bankers, Rotarians and more. Whether you join us for a few hours or a few years, we are very grateful to everyone who joins the Sierra Nevada Journeys' mission.
If you do not see an opportunity that interests you below, please get in touch with Alyssa Wagner (Reno) or Sarah Barnes (Sacramento), our volunteer coordinators and teacher extraordinaires, and they'll work with you to find an opportunity around your skills and availability.

We are looking for volunteers to lead small groups of students during their Classrooms Unleashed science exploration trips to local nature areas. Download a flier with more information about being a field volunteer: Sacramento or Reno.
