Are you ready for a unique summer camp experience, designed exclusively for adults? Sierra Nevada Journeys has just the thing! This perfect unwinding weekend awaits you, with no responsibilities other than showing up with your friends. Join us from August 15 - 17, 2025, for a weekend in the mountains, free from all of those responsibilities. Weekend fun begins Friday at 4 pm and ends Sunday at 1 pm.
We are planning a unique weekend filled with all the nostalgia and bliss you experienced as a child at summer camp. It will be an action-packed weekend of fun, activities, and social time. Alternatively, you could simply take an afternoon nap in a lawn chair under the famous giant yellow pine trees of Plumas National Forest.
The Sierra Nevada Journeys Outdoor Education Camp, located just 50 minutes north of Reno in Portola, CA, offers a refreshing retreat. It stretches over 515 acres of forested land, providing an experience that feels worlds apart, though only minutes away. The camp features 16 cabins, each equipped with its own bathroom and shower facilities, and can accommodate up to 12 people in bunk style. Gather your group of friends and adult family members, and plan an unforgettable memory-making trip.

Nightbrain performs Saturday night under the starts at Grown-Up Getaway Camp 2025
Saturday night’s live music is Nightbrain, a unique fusion of moody grooves, club-driven funk, and soulful chill-hop. The band is local to the Lost Sierra region, blending styles and collaborating since 2020. What started as a casual experiment in a secluded cabin has become a dedicated artistic pursuit. With a passion for innovation, Nightbrain continues to push musical boundaries, weaving diverse influences into fresh, immersive sounds, ready to share with the Grown-Up Getaway campers.

We plan to bring back multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Kat Heart for Kat Karaoke on Friday night. At the inaugural Grown-Up Getaway Camp, she treated our campers to an exclusive and intimate performance around the campfire. Based out of Reno, Nevada, Kat’s performance alone is worth the ticket price for Grown-Up Getaway Camp.
DJ Braidz out of Quincy, CA, is a dynamic, genre-blending DJ known for delivering high-energy mixes that ignite any crowd. With a sharp ear for seamless transitions and infectious beats, DJ Braidz curates a sound that resonates across all audiences. From packed clubs to intimate gatherings, every set is crafted to keep both casual listeners and die-hard dancers locked into the rhythm. Driven by a passion for music and precision mixing, DJ Braidz's mission is clear — to unite people through the universal power of sound.
Liz Swindell is an artist, owner, and curator of Wild Pines, a local artists and makers shop in Graeagle, CA. She will lead two enjoyable and flexible painting sessions, allowing you to make your own creative choices, select colors that appeal to you, and express your inner artist. Sierra Nevada Journeys is the perfect backdrop for inspiration for her Paint n’ Sips sessions with us at Grown-Up Getaway Camp. You’ll leave camp with a cherished painting that you created representing your weekend away with us.
