Leadership on the Lawn
Teacher Training Workshop
This half-day retreat for teachers and faculty is a great way to improve school culture by learning new social-emotional learning (SEL) skills.
Leadership on the Lawn is a 3-4-hour program that is backwards designed from CASEL competencies and 21st Century Learning Skills. It focuses on leadership development, collaborative problem solving, teamwork, group communication, building confidence and more. Led by trained Sierra Nevada Journeys educators, the program takes place in your schoolyard and utilizes collaborative games and intentional debriefs to guide your teachers on building trust and understanding with their students. Meanwhile, teachers build community and trust with each other at the same time!
Professional Development for Teachers
Educators are life-long learners at heart, and are always searching for opportunities to expand their toolbox of instructional delivery strategies, explore new content knowledge, and collaborate with other educators on best-practices. At Sierra Nevada Journeys, we believe in "teaching one to teach the many," and provide a variety of ways to support science education for elementary school teachers.
