Science Educator
Shay grew up in Davis, California, and spent a lot of their childhood outside and camping with family. After high school, Shay went to UC Irvine and studied Environmental Science and Policy with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies. At UCI, they enjoyed teaching intro Earth science classes, day trips to explore Joshua Tree, and tide pooling at nearby beaches. Shay is extremely passionate about conservation and environmental justice.
In their free time, they love to do any crafts they can get their hands on, like cross-stitching, embroidery, crocheting, and digital art. Shay also enjoys spending time with their dog, Loki (pictured), and their leopard gecko, Shay Jr.
